Meet our furry little corgi racers! Watch them take to the field on May 4th at the Denver Mini Derby
APPA
Appa is the quintessential “champion from the Eastern Air Temple.” He is a lovable yet stubborn corgi with a passion for racing. Despite his small stature, Appa's determination knows no bounds when it comes to zooming around the track. From the moment he sets foot on the starting line, his competitive spirit ignites, and there's no stopping him. But don't let his racing prowess fool you; Appa is also a bundle of affection. His heart is as big as his appetite for victory and treats! He showers me with endless love and side eye. Though he may be a bit headstrong at times, his playful antics and infectious enthusiasm never fail to bring joy to those around him. Whether he's dashing through the backyard or zipping around the agility course, Appa's zest for life is undeniable. With each stride, he embodies the spirit of perseverance and joy, inspiring all who have the pleasure of crossing paths with this spirited corgi racer.
GRACIE
Gracie is 1. She is a silly girl. Loves to run and play. Never met a dog or person she didn’t like. When we go to the dog park or on walks, she always brings smiles and laughter with her beautiful personality. Her favorite things are playing outside, running and meeting new friends.
KEVIN
Introducing Kevin, the pint-sized powerhouse of the corgi racing world! This Welsh Pembroke Corgi has been stealing hearts since day one with his sweet temperament and irresistible charm. At just over 20 weeks old, Kevin is already showing his potential as a top contender on the racetrack. With boundless energy and a love for adventure, Kevin dashes through obstacles with lightning speed, leaving spectators in awe of his agility and determination. When he's not dominating the racetrack, Kevin enjoys exploring new trails, playing with his favorite toys, and cuddling up with his adoring fans. With his winning spirit and infectious enthusiasm, Kevin is ready to take the corgi racing world by storm and capture the title of champion with his irresistible charm and undeniable talent!
KIWI
Kiwi is a three-year-old corgi full of boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm. He is known for being the smiliest corgi around and can always cheer up people. He even volunteers as a therapy dog by providing comfort to hospital patients and nursing home residents. Kiwi loves playing with other dogs, and it tends to trigger his zoomies. Being chased is one of his favorite activities, right behind eating ice cream. Ever since we participated in the Broncos corgi race, he has loved running with other corgis. Kiwi's playful antics and love for cuddles make him the perfect companion, proving that he's not just a racer but a beloved member of the family.
LEO
Every time Leo runs at the dog park, people are shocked at how fast he is. At the prime age of 6, he hasn’t lost any momentum. He loves to do anything for treats, go on walks, go to the park and loves a tasty pup cup. Leo’s a great racer because he’s focused and has his eye on the prize… the treats he gets at the end.
LEVI
Levi is a 1 year old corgi with lots of energy. He love chasing his tail and anything that runs. He’s very sassy and loves snuggling. He’ll do anything for a treat (or two).
MUSTANG
Mustang is a spunky 3 year black tri-colored corgi. This will be his second time racing at the derby. He got 4th place last time this time he is going to go for the gold! He's been training!
NOVA
Nova is 2. She is very sweet and energetic. She loves to run, it’s her favorite activity. She does great with other dogs and people.Nova is always game for new activities. Her approach to live is live with enthusiasm and have fun.
PAL
Pal is the spunkiest corgi mix, he loves to run and race with all the dog at Cheeseman Park. His favorite things are snuggeling, throwing his toys around the house just to chase them and going on Colorado adventures. He is looking forward to his birthday this month, he will be turning 2 and plans on spending the day in the park with his buddies playing ball. He has an instagram it is @pal_o_mine.
PHIL
Phil is a two and half year old corgi who loves adventure. Born in Texas he has lived in three different states. He has adapted to his Colorado life by making many friends at daycare, romping in the snow, and joining his owner on several hikes. Phil’s favorite things include butt scratches, pets, destroying lamb chops, cuddles, giving a bombastic side eye, and of course food. Like his herding ancestors, Phil loves to run and attempt to herd larger dogs at the parks. He may be small but he sure is fast, if he can of course run in the right direction!
PICKLES
Introducing Pickles, the tri-color Pembroke Welsh Corgi sensation! With a passion for popcorn, Wheat Thins, and cuddles, she's the MVP of fetch and daily walks. Move over, Secretariat, Pickles is ready to win the Corgi Mini Derby with her "ball is life" motto!
RIGATONI
Rigatoni will be 1 on May 25th! He is obsessed with toys, treats, dogs, and people. He is famous in the neighborhood and in his training classes. Everyone falls in love with him! His favorite things are bones and balls. He also loves the snow and loves digging holes! He loves to run around the backyard and gets zoomies all day long!
SCOUT
Scout is 1 a one year old Corgi. He is full non stop energy and loves to sprint past his big brother Summit as fast as he can. He has a big personality for a 22lb dog.
TOBI
Tobi is a 6 year old try guy who loves to have all eyes on him. He loves all food, rolling in the grass, and running through the snow! He loves to run and he has not let two knee surgeries slow him down!
Unfortunately, sweet Tobi was diagnosed with cancer on April 11th. He still plans to race this year as long as he is feeling well, but would be very grateful if you could donate to his treatment: https://gofund.me/b687fb55
WALTER
Walter is a goofy, energetic 2 year old male corgi who has more energy than his mother knows what to do with. He loves playing/herding anyone that gives him attention and will let you know vocally if you aren’t giving him the appropriate amount of snuggles his feels is due to him. He would be a great competitor and definitely would be entertaining.
PENELOPE
Penelope the Pembroke Puppy is a 5.5 year old fur ball of fun & fluff! From 8 weeks old, she accompanied her mom & dad on the boat in all the waterways of Colorado, would ride in her dad's ski jacket to go snowmobiling, and helped operate the tractors, skidsters and excavators on the family property! Needless to say, she loves engines and has a need for SPEED! She loves squeaky and crinkly toys, and her favorite snack is lunchmeat. She's a great racer as she trains everyday running up and down the high altitude roads of her neighborhood in Deer Creek Canyon CO!
WINSTON
Winston is a 3 year old male Pembroke Welsh Corgi. His favorite things are snacks, any toy with a squeaker and attention from any hoomans. He will outrun anyone toward his emotional support ball.
